Here is an enlarged version of my drawing. I used Google Docs to create it. This was a neat activity to complete. I sell Premier Jewelry aside from teaching, so I am constantly using tools to create invitations or announcements. Google Draw Tool is very easy to use and understand. Anyone can add their own picture to their drawing (which is what I did) or insert a shape (also what I did). It is easy to add text and change the color or size of the text. A simple click on the mouse allowed me to publish this to web.
This could be a great tool for in the classroom. Students would be able to create a drawing and then post it to the web so everyone in the classroom had access to it. The part about publishing things to the web is that it will always be there. I have saved items to a zip drive and then lost them due to a virus. Posting items to the web prevents this problem!
Looking at the ISTE NETS T standards, creating a drawing refers to standard #1. It allows students to explore their creativity using technology. Students can also use this tool as a reflection of their understanding of the current content. If the students post their drawing to the web then that would fall under standards #4 and #5. As stated before, it is a great tool to use in the classroom!!
